Artist Statement

I enjoy photography because whatever you take a picture of has a story behind it. I believe that pictures are the best conversational pieces you can have in your home and I take great pride in explaining my photos to other people. I like telling them how I relate to the subject in my photo. I enjoy taking pictures of old, textured, and weird things from extreme perspectives because black and white photography enhances those intriguing qualities. I am fascinated by how black and white can alter the feeling of all different kinds of shots, although my subjects rarely varied since I took most of my rolls in my backyard. :)
